These were the opening words of my GP some 18 months ago on diagnosing my Hashimotos (after spending 2.5 years being treated for hypothyroidism without knowing about the autoimmune disease linkage)....
This book by Izabella Wentz was a game-changer for me in dealing with my Hashimotos. As a sufferer of the disease herself, combined with her background in pharmacy and her drive to get answers to her condition and to keep digging at it no matter what, she presents this book with such honesty and openness and above all - with real and practical solutions! My favourite diagram..
I've created this separate blog space in special dedication to those who might be seeking thyroid-friendly support and advice. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos in early 2017 after being treated for hypothyroidism since 2014. I also have TMJ dysfunction and pelvic congestion syndrome, so may share stories relating to these conditions in this space aswell. I am not an authority on the subject but have learnt a lot since first diagnosis which has helped me manage my condition and feel like 'my old self' again from time to time. So if I can share anything that will help others I would like to use this space to do so! Please also feel free to share your own experiences with me I would love to hear from you! Please note all posts and comments are directly from my own experience with Hashimotos, I am not a professional medical practitioner and would recommend you consult with your GP or practitioner before trialling any of the methods or suggestions I may refer to within this blog.
