"Raise your words, not your voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder." ~ Rumi ~
MY BACKGROUND & EXPERTISE
My professional experience and background spans over 15 years in grants and funding, fundraising, government relations, community engagement and public relations roles, including 8 years as Co-Founder and Director at The Grants & Funding Institute. I have helped raise almost $15 million in funding and fundraising appeals during this time and have advised and coached hundreds of grant seekers via workshops, forums and one-on-one advisory sessions.
My work has extended across government agencies, private funds, community foundations and philanthropic bodies accessing funding for clients across program areas such as innovation, commercialisation, export, tourism, climate change and green initiatives, research, technology, manufacturing, employment, infrastructure, small business and community building.
Early in my career I spent a very rewarding period leading the Community Relations function at Cancer Council NSW (Southern Region) involving the management of 350-400 volunteers annually and annual fundraising targets of over $1.5 million. This role was instrumental in setting the foundations for my future positions as a Director, Consultant and Advisor for grants and funding seekers both in the non-profit and corporate industries.
My current passions involve advocacy, campaign management, communications, funding and strategic planning with a focus on environmental and conservation initiatives, as well as Indigenous projects relating to culture and heritage.
Academically I hold a Master of Business Administration (2010 - Valedictorian) and Bachelor of Arts (2002), both awarded with distinction (MBA undertaken as scholarship recipient).
SUBMISSION WRITING SUPPORT SERVICES
I offer a range of services for organisations seeking assistance and support with funding submissions across the following key areas:
1. Identifying and assessing suitable grant programs,
2. Reviewing and editing draft submissions,
3. Undertaking Eligibility Assessments for specific funding programs,
4. Government relations and liaison with funding bodies
5. Assisting in the development of support materials such as project plans and letters of support
6. Coordinating workshops with your team to increase your in-house capabilities to prepare and manage the grants process from start to finish
My services can be used across any stage of an organisation's funding journey, from identifying the grants most suited to particular project/funding requirements, to assessing the 'grant readiness' of an organisation, or reviewing and editing draft submissions to ensure they meet the needs of the funding body. My experience in this field translates to well over a decade of working with both grant seekers and grant makers and understanding the needs and requirements of a successful submission.
I am fluent in the language used by funding bodies and can help you to communicate your project effectively as well as ask the right questions of these agencies when applying under their program.
