I was recently asked if I could facilitate a 'yoga hens' session for the daughter of one of my beautiful students - I immediately agreed and then started asking myself what on earth might a yoga hens morning look like?! Having come from a generation where hens parties were more focused on 'penis straws' and champagne than downward dogs and herbal tea, I began to visualise what this new take on the pre-wedding party could involve. Of course I needn't have been concerned at all! This beautiful group of women came to me with open minds and hearts, we moved, laughed and shared our emotions and the energy created during the morning's session was so special. Before the day I had sourced a unique rose quartz crystal shaped into a love heart that worked as the centrepiece for our practice and absorbed all the loving energy from the group - this was a special little gift for the hen on the day that she could take with her and carry the loving intentions of her girlfriends and family members after the session finished.
In addition to a yoga flow and movement session we incorporated some fun games with affirmation quote cards and sipped from exquisite teacup gifts with herbal tea balls that opened into colourful flowers inside our cups! We ended the session with a peaceful meditation and relaxing savasana, before the group moved onto their next activity for the day - a Korean lunch date! Thank you for involving me in your special day Hannah! If you or anyone you know is planning a hens function please feel free to share this post with them for inspiration and contact me for more information on how we can incorporate some yoga into their plans:)
