I read this beautiful book earlier this year
and it spoke to me so clearly and honestly.
Sally’s account of her families struggle with identity and place,
in particular her Grandmother’s initial denial of her Aboriginal heritage,
offers insight into the pain experienced
and endured by our First Nations people
as a result of the stolen generation and the
years of trauma that followed
(and still continue to this day).
A beautiful read that doesn’t shy away from any of the big issues.
~'My Place' by Sally Morgan (1987) ~
I'm Tehla Jane and I've created this site to share my love of yoga, writing, books and nature with you! It started in 2016 as a personal blog called 'Mummi T the Yogini', but it's since grown into a space for my Kahvah Yoga community, and most recently a bookshop and 'bookblog'. In a nutshell what you see here is a culmination of all my life's passions converging into one little home, handcrafted from me to you!*
My vision is to create a connected community of like-minded souls with a shared interest in making the world a better place:) So thank you so much for stopping by and feel free to reach out or drop me a line with any thoughts or feedback!
*As a mum of two I'm really passionate about keeping it real, so this site tends to ebb and flow according to the vagaries of my parenting responsibilities (I know many other mums out there can relate)! I don't automate posts, I don't have an SEO or marketing agency, everything you see on this site has been created from a labour of LOVE from me to you!
